Vashti nodded and managed what she hoped was a reassuring smile. "Yeah, I'll be okay. Just...surprised that there won't be any Quidditch this year." Surprised was probably an understatement, but again it was the first word that came to mind. "Sorry if I deafened you a second ago. What a way to be welcomed to Hogwarts, huh?" she said with a weak laugh. It was a weak attempt at it, but at least she was trying. And really, she knew she shouldn't let it get her down. It wasn't a life-or-death situation or anything; she didn't need to play it to survive. But she still wanted to play whether she needed to or not. Sigh.
