"Hey Lexi," Nolan said with a smile, taking a swig of pumpkin juice. He looked back at her and wrinkled his eyebrows. Doing better? What on Earth was she on about? Knowing that once again, Nolan didn't really want to talk about whatever it was that was bothering him, Lexi just smiled and nodded.
"Mmkay, maybe I just misread your facial expressions or something. It just seemed like you were a little upset or preoccupied with something. I'm sure it was just me overreacting, though," she replied. Only, she was positive she hadn't been overreacting.

Her focus was interrupted by the voice of her neighbour and she turned her head towards the woman. "Oh, hello," Maya reached out a hand towards Lexi, her spanish accent taking control of her english. "Very nice to meet you! My name is Maya Saylen," she said, quite happy to finally get to know her colleagues. And this woman didn't seem as freaky as some of the students - exellent.
"I am the new..." the title was a handfull! "Care of Magical Creatures professor." Nod. "Do they always have this ...grand feast here?" She was refering to the other shools and the big parades...
Lexi reached forward and shook her new neighbor's hand.
"It's good to meet you, Maya," she remarked. Lexi had never been one to be too formal, so she hoped it was alright to call her new co-worker by her given name. After all, Lexi would hope that Maya would call her
Lexi and not Miss Carlton or Professor Carlton.
"Grand feast...mmhmm. It's to celebrate the start of school. We'll have another at the end of term. Otherwise, the other days are just...well, days in which normal meals are served. Meals not so big." Quote:

Emms Emma Malfoy went over to the Staff table to visit the Professors. And to say hello. She was so happy to be back. She went over to Professor Carlton. She grinned. "Hello Professor! How are you?" she asked happily, with a huge smile on her face.
Lexi started to say something else to Maya, but then she realized that a Slytherin student had approached and was currently introducing herself. She turned toward the girl with a smile.
"Oh, I'm doing just fine, thank you. How are you?" she said.
"Having a good feast?" The girl seemed to be having a good time. She looked happy, at least.
