Cora stepped through the wall and on to Platform 9 3/4 with her parents closely following her. She is their only daughter, and it was tough for them to let her go every year to school.
Cora was not looking forward to this year at Hogwarts. Even though she was a fifth year. It was going to feel like she was a first year. Cora is a very shy person and in her previous four years at Hogwarts, she only managed to make one really good friend, Gretchen. This year though, she was alone because Gretchen and her family moved to the States and she could not longer attend Hogwarts.
Cora's father looked at her and told her, "I know this year is going to be tough, but try to make some new friends. I know you will do well in your classes and don't forget to study hard because this is your O.W.L. year." She smiled and shook her head. Cora gave her father and mother a hug and kiss goodbye. Her mother whispered in her ear "I love you, Cora. Don't forget to write us when you get there."
Cora then turned and pushed her cart with her trunk and new owl, Lily, toward the train so that she could get on and find a seat.
