"The board is to make up its mind about the future of the school next month and we believe that it is important for the future of the estate that the school be retained", they said in a joint statement.
"The special education unit has such a high reputation that parents from as far away as Glengormley volunteer to send their children to it. The special unit is a facility not just for Antiville, but for the greater Larne area.
"The school is an important community resource", the DUP men added.
"It is a centre not just for children, but also for adult education.
"At a time when the estate is undergoing difficult change the loss of the school would be very wrong.
"We trust that the board will do more give the school a sat of execution, but go further and give assurance that it will remain so that parents can have confidence in sending their children to it", they stated.
