Instead of replying, however, she pulled her door shut, locked her seatbelt across her and took off as fast as the speed limit would allow her. Luckily, Blake didn't live too far from her work and she was there in less than ten minutes - good considering the early evening rush was still dying down. She found a parking spot and quickly made her way up the steps until she was in front of the oh-so-usual door. She knocked three times, unable to keep herself from smiling as she waited on edge for Blake to open the door.
A loud thump on the door jolted him out of the light doze he had sunken into. He pulled up his falling jeans, rubbing his eyes on his way to the door. It better be the person he's expecting or else he's going back to sleep. As he opened the door, his blue eyes flickered open at the sight of Helena who was smiling brightly up at him. "
Come in." He took her hand into his and pulled her into his arms, a lopsided grin growing across his scruffy face.
Closing the door behind him, he leaned his head against the door as his arms snaked around Helena's petite waist. "
Missed me?" He asked with the usual pout and smiled softly, "
I was ready to come back last week but they made me stay this long." He would've never had the mother & son one-to-one, had he not stayed.
