Perhaps surprisingly, it was Nick who ended up pulling away. Lifting an unsure hand to the back of his neck, he seemed to cling onto it by the end of his nails and stammered, "Well, I cant do that Kristi. I'm sorry, but I cant be there for you if you wont talk to me. It's alright if you feel you cant. I mean, I shouldn't expect you to. You barely know me. But still, I cant be here and be like this, knowing your hurting while also being told there's nothing I can do about it, so I should just forget about it. I cant Kristi, I'm sorry." he said, doing a double-take before he made a dash for the stairs. He clung onto the bannister for a while before ascending them without looking back.
