Dozer couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped though he managed to cover some of it by clearing his throat. "Need some help with those?"

Would she like him to carry some? Urrr. Sarah looked down at all the ones she had hold of, and noted the fact she wouldn't very easily be able to pick anything else up. "Hmm, that would be lovely, if you don't mind?" She left it as a question. He might have asked her, but he also might have expected her to say no. You never could be sure when someone was just being polite. "I sorta like to stock up before going back to school. Easier than getting my parents to send it...they - they don't come here without me really, soo..."
"I suppose you could say that," Sarah shrugged, her face lessening in redness now no-one had told her to mind her own business. "Everyone is different, though. But I'd say you won't go far wrong with it." Jeepers. The shopkeeper was stood right there, and SHE was the one passing opinion? Good thing the man looked friendly.
And then - who was this?
The boy she was talking to seemed to know him, and seemed even more embarrassed that he'd been caught by him. Sarah raised her eyebrows as he stuttered and grabbed some more of the soap. Boys WERE strange creatures. It was official. But not wanting to be rude, she gave the new arrival a smile and nod, shifting her own shopping into a more comfortable position as she did so. "Hello..." Do you two know each other? Why on earth is this so embarrassing for you both? How on earth did I end up surrounded by three blokes in a girly shop? - All questions she had, but kept to herself.
At the girl's hesitation as she looked down at the enormous supply of hair product in her arms, Ethan withdrew the bottle he picked up from her reach as the beginnings of a crooked grin played at the corners of his lips.
"Don't mind at all," he said sincerely, as he plucked a few of the bottles from her arms. Didn't take them all, however, because, one, he wasn't sure how it would be humanly possible for anyone to carry that many without dropping them and, two, he had his own purchases to carry.
For his mum, NOT for him! He raised a speculative eyebrow at her explanation for buying up the entire stock. Stock up... if she said so. He simply answered,
"Right." Not that he completely understood though because one or two of those would last him the entire term. Certainly it was one of those weird girl things that he would never fully understand anyway so best to not go into it any further.
As he had grabbed several of the sweet-smelling soaps that the girl had recommended, Ethan decided that that would be what Mum was getting, no need to look around anymore because he hadn't a clue, really, and something recommended by a girl would be his best bet. The fifteen year old shook his head at Dozer's question, frowning slightly at his chuckle. Okay, he guessed the situation
could be viewed as amusing, and he smiled to himself slightly as he forced his mood to lighten.
"Nah, I'm good," he answered his half-brother as he held up the soap a little bit.
"Just getting these for my mum."
Glancing up at the girl as she greeted Dozer trailing off as if to inquire just who he was, Ethan said,
"Oh, this is... my brother Dozer and..." Calling him brother would take a little time to get used to, but the word half-brother just sounded... even weirder, even if that's what he was. It just didn't sound right to say out loud. And then he suddenly realized that he had no idea what the girl's name was... and she would have no idea what his name was either.
"And I'm Ethan, by the way..."
