Lady friend? That definitely caused some raised eyebrow action.
A wand, that the man was able to control the actions of. That was a difficult piece of work no doubt and would probably take all day and night to make. Probably till early in the morning if he worked non-stop. However, that was just the problem. If he didn't make this wand, there was going to be some obvious consequences. His skill was in wand making, and nothing else.
"Surely, you would like to help choose the wood and core? I have a variety of things here that can be of your use that you are looking for." Walking to a dark corner, looking as if there is nothing there, he reached out his hands and suddenly pulled on something. The sound of fabric rustling, and a few candles suddenly lighting near by, revealed a cabinet that looked almost as old as this shop.
"I don't usually use some of these particular woods, or cores for that matter, since they are rather valuable and hard to get, and the combination of the both is hard to process, but in this case...you might find something to your preference." Opening the cabinet, it indeed revealed a great variety of blocks of wood, and jars of things not normally seen in wood cores.
