"I want him to have your hair."

He had extinguished the lights, ten minutes ago, and he had thought she had gone to sleep. But James realized, now, that Lily was still awake.

"I love yours," he said.

"But I want him to have yours," Lily repeated. "I don't think red will look good on him. Do you think red will look good on him?"

"I'm sure he will be good," James said, comfortingly. "But you should be asleep, Lils."

"I hope he's alright at Transfiguration," Lily responded. "I was never good at Transfiguration."

He kissed her.
