"Awwww," Jake cooed as he saw the owl. He held out his hand and then half drew it back again. "Cuhh-can I p-pet... him... her? I hhhave an owl, and a c-c-cat... and a tuhh-tarantula. And other an-animmmals." Though whether he could count those as family pets, Jake didn't know.

Lexi smiled sadly and nodded her head. "Well proving yourself I totally understand." She did. It was terrible.

Wasabi clicked her beak several times and nipped affectionately at Lexi's fingers. "Of course you can pet her. She is really mild mannered. If you whistle she will come light on your arm or shoulder," she said encouragingly.
