Marie had just about made out to the Entrance Hall when she heard Carter calling for her. Wasn't it obvious where she was going? She was going anywhere he WASN'T.

Stopping she turned to look at him. "Look Carter, it's obvious you didn't listen to a single word I told you about Kay. I can see that no matter what I say to you about her you are still going to be her friend." she said as the tears slowly started to fall down her cheeks. "I now realize that no matter how much I love you, I can't make you do something you don't want to do. I just know I don't have to be a part of it, even if that means I have to walk away from you." She then turned and headed for the door again. Once there she turned back, "I'm sorry Carter," she said then turned and left the Great Hall.

With tears now streaming down her face she ran back to the Slytherin Common Room. She had no reason to be at the feast now. The only reason she had went was to be with Carter and well, he made it clear that Kay was more important than she was. With her out of the picture he would be able to spend as much time as he wanted with Kay.

Where was that train? She was ready to go home NOW.
