Raiden flicked a glance around at the other students in the classroom. There were a lot of young kids. A lot. And some of them weren't doing the best at mastering this spell...
Hmmm. Flicking his wand out of his holster, he followed the wand movement around a few times. If NEWT students were meant to have little to no trouble with it... well then he should be okay too, right? Since... well he was pretty much just below NEWT level in most things.
"Cucurbita Intaglio... Cucurbita Intaglio..." he murmured, wand movements stalling as he mumbled the spell. Wasn't that hard to say, at least. With a decisive flick, he muttered it once more, and turned his wand in the almost oval shape.
It was a cucumber, definitely. And there was something carved in it. But somehow he'd only managed to get half of his first name... the cucumber boasted the word 'Rai', gouged out very deliberately. Absently, he vanished it, wondering if it would work just the same with a nickname.
Better to not risk it, though.
"Cucurbita Intaglio," he said again, forming the words carefully. This time, the cucumber that appeared had the rest of his name carved into it as well. With a flick, he vanished it, and repeated the spell a few more times, just to make sure that he'd gotten it right.
No such thing as too careful, after all. |
