"Oh, and I just realized... Avis!" Gold grinned at her simple, little trick, as birds flew out of the tip of her wand, a little bigger than last time, though not more in quantity. Four or five. She didn't actually count, to be honest. Lowering her wand, Gold watched their progress.

Is this how Professor Truebridge feels when he teaches us? It was a strange feeling, a chunk of disappointment when things didn't work out, a big burst of happiness when whoever you were helping out, succeeded. Gold hoped the birds would be eggs, soon.

Because that would mean Ellie = successful with the spell.

Mmm.
