Gold turned to look at Ellie, but the first year had already burst into a bout of information. When Ellie fell silent, Gold nodded. "No worries," she said. She sat down on the edge of the stage, and motioned for Ellie to do the same. No use standing while they talked, was there?

"Well, we'll start with Revertoscutum. Re-ver-toe-skew-tum," she repeated, more slowly. "It's called the 'glass to sand' shield, because it reverts physical things to their previous state. The wand movement is as simple as one can get - you only have to point." She pointed her own wand, as if to demonstrate, and said the incantation. The result was a shield that was a light aquamarine, a water-like colour.

"If you think you have the incantation right, give it a try," she said, encouragingly. "Otherwise, practice the incantation first." Because the wand movement was the easy part. "When you try the spell, focus on what you want - for anything that hits your shield, to be reverted."

"You might get a shield that's a lighter or darker shade of blue than mine," she added, in case that happened.

Ellie followed Gold up onto the stage. Took her a minute to get settled, but once she did, she was all ears.

Her mouth dropped open as Gold spoke, though. Glass was made from SAND?!?! Who knew...

'Re-ver-toe-skew-tum' she mouthed as Gold had said it. And her eyes shone bright when the pretty blue shield went up. Ooooh! Things were so much cooler learning them this time around. When her head wasn't throbbing and stuff. And all you had to do was point? Even better. Cuz remembering all the wand movements AND all the spells she'd learned this year, was going to be the death of her. Death by thinking. If that was at all possible.

"Right. Re-ver-toe-skew-tum." she said agian, out loud this time. Haha. The 'skew' part sounded funny. Ellie smiled at the thought. Skew. Skew. Skew.

"Revertoscutum. Revertoscutum." she repeated. Then she lifted her wand up and pointed it in front of her. Point! That was all. "Revertoscutum." she said.

What had appeared, was not much. There was a little wisp of light blue. That's all. Booooooo.

So she was going to try again, of course. "Revertoscutum!" Louder this time. Because she thought things worked better the louder you said it. Like when you were telling a little kid to clean their room...they won't listen until you raise your voice. Even if it's just a bit. Spells seemed to be the same way. At least to Ellie they were. Stubborn spells...

This time their was a fairly distinguishable blue shield. Like the 'Cinderella' color blue. Very, very, light. And it was really small. Probably only as big as Ellie's head. Which, no, was not big, thank you very much. And it vanished within a few seconds.

She gave a meek smiley thing like: :/ to Gold, unsure of whether that was a GOOD attempt, or if she would definitely die if any glass was thrown at her.
