New post time! Here's the remainder of the reception

“Oh, stop it, you guys,” Emily hushed. The three girls giggled as they made their way back outside.

As Emily walked into the tent, she saw George’s eyes go wide, which caused them to erupt into another fit of giggles. His eyes softened as he started toward her, but the Minister stopped him with his words.

“It is now time for the father-daughter dance,” he said into the microphone. Remus came toward her with a huge grin on his face.

“May I have this dance?” he asked shyly.

“Well, you are my daddy, Rems, at least you’re one of them,” she giggled. Remus chuckled as he took her hands and led her to the middle of the dance floor. She wrapped one hand around his shoulder while her other was held tightly in his hand. The music started playing as they glided around the floor. Emily recognized the song immediately.

“Oh, Rems, I’m so glad you picked this one,” she whispered as she laid her head on his chest, tears seeping through her lids.

“I know, Ems, me too,” he whispered back, his breath tickling her neck.

Look at the two of you dancing that way
Lost in the moment and each other’s face
So much in love you’re alone in this place
Like there’s nobody else in the world
I was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one
She told me so

“You still are, Rems. You always will be,” she whispered. Remus smiled against her hair.

And she still means the world to me
Just so you know
So be careful when you hold my girl
Time changes everything
Life must go on
And I’m not gonna stand in your way

But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she’d find you someday
But it’s still hard to give her away
I loved her first

“Remus,” Emily said as she leaned back to look at him. “When are you going to ask Tonks to dance?”

“I don’t think that’s a good idea, Ems,”
he said quietly.

“Why not?”

“Because—”

“Remus John Lupin, she likes you, and I know you like her. So, what is the problem?”

“The problem is that I’m too old and too poor for her. She deserves someone better,”
he sighed.

“There is no one better I can think of. She wants you, not some young idiot. And you’re not poor. Mum left you quite a bit of money,” Emily accused.

“Yes, but I was thinking of giving that money to you and George and the family you were going to start.”

“Well, thank you for the thought, but George and I are good on money. He has a fortune from the shop and I have Mum’s money, not to mention half of Dad’s. For me, your daughter, the bride, will you ask her to dance tonight, at least once? And it has to be a slow dance.”
Emily puckered out her lower lip in a pout. Remus chuckled.

“Fine, but only once,” he sighed.

“Good,” she said happily as she rested her head back on his chest.

How could that beautiful woman with you
Be the same freckled face kid that I knew
The one that I read all those fairy tales to
And tucked into bed all those nights
And I knew the first time I saw you with her
It was only a matter of time

But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she’d find you someday
But it’s still hard to give her away
I loved her first

From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
Someday you might know what I’m going through
When a miracle smiles up at you
I loved her first

The music came to an end and Emily let go of Remus. He kissed her cheek and told her he loved her. George started making his way over to her, but Fred beat him there.

“Sorry, Georgie, but you just aren’t quick enough,” he sniggered as he took Emily’s hand.

“Right, well you better keep your hands where I can see them, Fredrick,” George said seriously before cracking a grin.

“So, how is my little sister doing this fine evening?” Fred asked.

“Pretty amazing. And how’s my big brother doing?” she asked with a grin.

“Pretty good,” he chuckled.

Emily danced with Fred, Harry, Lee, and Mr. Weasley, before she got back to George.

“So, did you cast Avada Kedavra when you walked in?” he whispered as he wrapped his arms around her waist, bringing her closer to him.

“No, why?” she asked.

“Because you made my heart stop beating,” he chuckled.

Emily giggled while he kissed her neck and cheek. “I’ve missed you,” she confessed.

“I missed you too. I’m not going to lie, Ems. I got pretty jealous of everyone,” he sighed.

“You shouldn’t. At the end of the night, I’m yours,” she whispered.

“Forever and Always,” he added.

“Forever and Always,” she agreed.

*I Loved Her First was composed by J. Aldridge and E. Park and performed by Heartland. And the Avada Kedavra bit was a Harry Potter pick up line (it's a group on Facebook, believe it or not) from Facebook.
