Chapter 9-Morning Interruption part 2

The tension in the room mounting Cassie finished her eggs and sat in silence watching Lucius’ obvious annoyance at the situation. She did not want to speak but she was curious what was going on. She folded her hands in her lap and sat quietly and waited for the rest of the family to finish. When Narcissa was finished with her food she stood up and walked over to her husband and kissed him on the cheek while handing him the neglected Daily Prophet.

“Come Cassandra let us go practice our music and let Mr. Malfoy have some peace” Narcissa said sincerely.

Before Narcissa walked away Lucius grabbed his wife’s wrist and gave her a look of warning. To which she said “ Join us in the music room when you are finished”

Looking defected he realesed Narcissa’s wrist and the two women walked out of the conservatory leaving an disagreeable Lucius to his paper.

Cassie felt that she could talk to Narcissa about her questions so she quietly asked “ Madam, What is an Aura?”

“An Aura is an investigator for the Ministry. Mr. Potter ‘s department is known for finding damaging items.” Narcissa said causously.

“what do you mean by damaging?” Cassie asked

Narcissa thought about her response before she gave it “Mr. Potter is looking for evidence of dark magic.”

Cassie briefly thought about her father and the dark magic he uses. Narcissa interrupted her thoughts “If you would not mind I would practice discipline about what you think Miss. Auras are practiced legimens and we would not want them to misinterpret your thoughts.”

The two women walked into the library and sat down at the chess table and began playing an uncomfortable game of chess. After about ten minuets Draco and Mr. Potter emerged from the potions room. The Aura was holding a jar of petite dried flowers buds.

“…has replaced him as Minister. I will need to know where you were on the night he was found.” Mr. Potter noticed the two women sitting at the chess table. “Ladies” he said acknowledging the two women. “Mr. Potter I trust you are dissatisfied in your search.” Narcissa said without looking up from the chess board.

With a small smile on his face the Aura replied “ I found these Daytura Buds in your apothecary and as you know they are a class two substance.”

“Too bad they are just a class two Mr. Potter if they were a class one then you could have had both my son and my husband taken in on violation of their parole. But as it stands Mr. Potter I believe you only found an hallucinogenic plant. Pity” Narcissa said dryly still not looking up from the board.

“Well Malfoy I believe my welcome has come to it’s end.” Mr. Potter said “However we will continue to monitor your activities. If you have any more information about the situation please contact the Aura’s Office. “

“Please give my condolences to the former Minister’s family.” Draco said plainly “I do hope you are able to find the culprit behind these attacks.” Draco escorted the Aura out of the library and out the door.
