Prologue.

Ella R. Greene, to her small Ohio town, was a normal teenage girl with a seemingly normal family. She was sent to a private school in the fall, her mother was a housewife and her father walked to the bus stop every day for work. They had three older daughters who had went to college, graduated and now were doing quite well for themselves. Oh yes the Greene’s had blended in well. In reality, Edward Greene, worked for the ministry in Salem and used a portkey to travel. His wife Deborah used the floo network to travel to her administrative job at St. Lukes, the largest magic hospital in America, and Ella attended Salem’s Witches Institute. Edward and Deborah loved their normal life and got a long quite well with muggles and wizards alike.
Though her parents loved their predictable bland life, Ella wanted adventure. Her adventurer’s heart often got her in trouble, and at Salem she was deemed rebellious and often was seen in detention. Ella herself was brilliant in her favorite subject potions, but the subjects she loathed, she got low marks in. Ella did not get along with her parents. Her father was brash and often was blabbing on about academics and how Ella doesn’t take things seriously. After all she was pure blood and her 8 times great grandfather was Minister of Magic in Salem.She had grown up listening to that.He was stern and had worked for the ministry for over 25 years. He could not say what department he worked in, but Ella had a hunch it was Department of Mysteries. Her mother was quiet and kept to herself. Her hair and makeup was done perfectly and she kept house the same way. She had gone to Salem and did well earning the honorable prefect badge her sixth and seventh year. She was also a cheerleader at Salem ,cheering for the best quidditch team they had The Eagles.
Ella resembled her eldest sister Jenny, the same long dark brown hair with the brightest blue eyes. She captured the hearts of all the local boys, but shown them no interest thinking them to be dull. Ella’s parents did not know what to do with her. She wasn’t excelling in her academics like her sisters had; she acted out and was often sneaking out. Her parents were planning something though, and Ella never noticed anything until one night in mid June, Edward Greene got two owls that would change Ella’s life.

Dear Edward C Greene,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected to be head of the department of ______, well you know. Having been serving the Salem Ministry for over twenty years, you are indeed well qualified. We would like you start on September first at 8 am.

As soon as Edward stopped reading the Letter, He glanced at the other one and began before Ella could even grasp fully on what was going on.

Dear Edward C Greene,

I have recieved your letter of recommendation from the ministry and we are pleased to say that we will accept your daughter Ella R Greene to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Enclosed are her school supplies list and her official letter. This is the first time a new student as been accepted as a fourth year in all of Hogwarts History.The train at Platform 9 ¾, Kings Cross Station in London leaves promptly at eleven am. Congratulations are in order on your new position here in London.

Ella couldn’t believe what she was hearing, moving? Going to a new school? “Dad, am I dreaming?” Ella spoke so softly it was as she was whispering. “No, Ella we will be moving and just so you know if you put one foot out of place at Hogwarts, they won’t be like Salem.” “I’ve heard good things about there academics, you better do well.” Her father always ended a sentence with a “you better do this” and usually added something about academics. Ella smiled. Her father was stern, but with a smile she knew she could get away with murder. “What made you decide to apply for the position?” “Better pay and I don’t know twenty five years in the same position gets old, plus you know how I am about academics and the lack of good marks you have!” Ella rolled her eyes, here he goes again. “Edward dear the book….” Ella looked puzzled, for one her mother spoke and secondly what did she mean about a book. “Of course!” “Thanks Deb, I almost forgot” Ella’s mother smiled. The head of the Greene Household reached in the cupboard and brought out a package. “Ella, this is for you.” Ella looked at the package and tore open the paper to find, Hogwarts a History. “ I want you to read the entire thing and give me a report of what you learned.” Edward said that proudly. “Are you serious?” Ella said as she thumbed through the over 1,000 page book. “You better read that book!” “Get started, right now, you are excused from dinner.” “But I’m not done eating!” “Of you go!” Realizing that defeat was inevitable, she grabbed the book and her letter from Hogwarts and trudged up the stairs.
She plopped on her bed and began Hogwarts a History.
