Rae had worked on the levitation charm for five years now, she could do this one nonverbally. Rae levitated the quill just as Celandine levitated the parchment. Rae started to try and write her name. R was barely noticeable because it was so light on the parchment. In the midst of writing A it was too hard and it ripped the parchment. Right...... So much for E with torn paper.
Cela kept the paper steady and when it tore, she repaired it and levitated it again.
"Keep trying, finite control is important with charms. You can't always be heavy handed with your cast and it totally makes it easier when you know the difference between how it feels to do one or the other." Celandine explained, trying for an encouraging and cheerful tone.
"So, are you going to the ball?" Multitasking. Levitating and talking at once. It didn't occur to Cela that Rae might have an issue with doing both.
