It was finally complete and fully functional with all the boys gathered to admire and drink in its contents with enthusiasm and excitement, for the first time.
“So beautiful” Remus mused watching students stalk the School.
“Mhmmm” sighed James, eyeing Lily’s footsteps in Gryffindor Tower.
Sirius snickered then jabbed Peter’s ribs because his hair was suddenly blocking his view.
“I think it’s time we make a vow” Sirius suggested.
“What vow?” James asked, his eyes still fixed on the map. On Lily.
“Yes Vow! Let’s vow!” Peter squiggled sticking a finger up his nostril, blockage.
“A vow to keep this map a secret among us and to protect it from misuse” Sirius explained slapping Peter’s hand with his wand, “Don’t do that in front of me”. Satisfied with Peter’s cringe he glanced back at the boys.
“A vow….. an Unbreakable Vow!” Sirius whispered dramatically stretching his hand from one end to the other.
James and Remus stared at him for a long moment then murmured their agreement.
Peter stared for most of the time. Incomprehensive.
