“Of course friends are important, without them, when I die who will be at my funeral? Destinations can’t come to say goodbye. Never leaving home isn’t such a bad thing, if it is filled with people who love you.” The words poured for Patroclus’ mouth, he was so unaware that these feelings had been lurking within him. However it was good for him to let it out, and realize that he needed more people in his life. Patroclus’ heart could not help but swell, when Evelyn had called him a friend, and asked him not to leave. “I will stay, just so I don’t upset you”, on ‘you’ Patroclus every so lightly tapped Evelyn on the tip of her nose with his finger, it was a loving gesture, so he hoped she would not be angered by it. However it was a big risk, but it felt appropriate.
People went to other people's funerals? Well that was definitely news for her.
"Well I guess it depends on the person. I know there are probably a lot of people who can only dream of traveling, but I see what you mean." And if their home wasn't filled with people who loved you? Then traveling was the next best thing!
Smiling as he said he would stay, so he wouldn't upset her, it faltered in the next split moment. Almost like slow motion, she could see his hand raise and enter the outer boundary of her personal bubble, and in a blink of an eye, it broke through to the inner layer, and finally, made a crash landing on her...nose? What in the world? A few seconds later as she stared wide eyed at him for a moment, she found her hand had already been reaching towards her wand out of instinct.
No, no, don't do that. He didn't do anything. She just...needed to wash her nose thoroughly before doing anything else that day.
"Soo..." she started, glancing once more at the suit of armor as if it were planning to fall again, before taking a tiny step away from it and Patroclus.
"Just in case things don't work out though, when..." did he want to cook? That sounded lame, even coming from her.
"This cooking thing..."
Hopefully he understood what she was trying to ask.
