Blink.

And now the sunlight was suddenly subdued and turned artificial.
Oh. They were inside a shop.

...

They were inside GLADRAGS!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Crap. And now Sarah was saying something about 'a Ball at the end of the robes'. Um, no that's not what she said, but the fidgeting was making the Captain confused. She was this close to turning around and running off to freedom, but the word 'chocolate' made her stand still. "Really?" Because, like... it was chocolate.

But noooo, there were to many weird clothes in here and Miranda was NOT going to be trying any out. She was allergic to...that type of...fabric. Er.

She felt her hand being liberated and thought this was it. With a shifty look around the store and at Sarah's back, Miranda went tippy-toed sneaky off towards the shop door. If she was quick and stealthy about it, her brainz calculations reckoned she would get there in 5...4...3...2....
Bleh. She couldn't. Turning around again, Miranda smiled at her friend and decided to sit down at the very comfy fluffy chairs. She didn't need to look for a dress, but Sarah might need her help. Gosh, where is Lori? She was like...soooooooo much better at this.

"Um, yes, ask, that would be good. Wouldn't want to get a weird...type of clothing thing. It's...the ball afterall." Heeeeeeh.
"Is um...Ryder taking you?" Aw, her adopted big brother. Hm, she hadn't seen him in a while. "I bet he'd think you'd look beautiful in whatever you wear. I mean...there's not much to you need to do to look amazing." Like, for realz.
Sometimes Sarah wished Miranda was more of a clothes person. Not that she never dressed, of course, don't be silly. But the fact that the mere mention of fancy clothes, or going NEAR a shop like this, seemed to bring her out in hives. And the fidgeting wasn't a good look.It would make other people think she was there under duress - which admittedly she was - but Sarah didn't really want to broadcast that.

"Yes.Chocolate.Although I'm not sure I'll be able to afford it all at once,"
considering the amount we get through, greedy guts pair.Cough. Would the bribe work? Would her friend still be there when she turned back around to face her?

OMG, YES.

Sarah blinked a couple of times at the smiling Miranda. She was still there. Not looking much happier, really, but she'd sat down, so must have been staying. That threw her for a loop, and she completely forgot what she was talking about. "Weird?....Oh! yes.No.Wouldn't want that," she stuttered, letting the hand holding some dress robes drop down by her side.Mehhh, they're no good. "You should get something shorter, you know.Show off your Quidditch trained legs." Sarah nodded at her friend, and returned the robes to the rail. There HAD to be something!

"Urrrr, I don't know actually.I haven't spoken to him for a couple of weeks. He's busy studying for his NEWTS." She dearly hoped her boyfriend would be taking her.It was bad enough they'd be apart for her last term, she didn't want to spend the Ball apart too.Sniffle. "Who are you going with?" 'Cause she was SO going to go.She was going to get chocolate for it.

Sarah threw her arms in the air and made a "Pffttttt" noise with her mouth. "Nothing here.I'll have to ask." Walking over to the counter, one eye still on Miranda, Sarah cleared her throat. "Excuse me? We have a very important Ball at the end of term, and we were wondering if you had any clothes that were a little less .... robe-like?" Dear me, did that sound rude? Hopefully not. "Something more along the lines of...muggle evening-wear?" Now THAT could be insulting to a witch.Maybe Sarah would have to order it in, get her mum to do it or something. She did really like her catalogues. -shifty-
