With no sign of Emily, Jamie pulled Alicia to a stop on the far side of the lake. She turned and smiled at him.

“Worried about Harry?” She asked, cocking her head to one side as she heard his thoughts. “Don’t worry… I am too” She said, wrapping her arms round his waist and laying her head on his chest.

“Can you see anything bad for him?” He asked and she shook her head. He sighed and kissed her emerald coloured curls, which turned a light brown and waved down her back.

“Race you to the edge of the lake” She grinned, letting go of him and looking up into his face.

“You’re on… Ready? Steady-” He said, crouching slightly.

“GO!” Alicia shouted as she sped off. He set off quickly as her laughter carried back in the wind to him. He sped up and her hair, which was flying behind her, was in touching distance.

She turned and her blue eyes glittered as she saw how close he was to her. She grinned at him before turning back to her goal. Jamie grinned and gained an extra spurt of speed, passing her and reaching the bank first.

“I win…” He breathed as she slowed down, her smile no longer on her face. “Even with you cheating…”

“I didn’t cheat… Guess what?” She said, side- stepping closer to him so that the reflection of the sun glittered off her long hair.

“What?” He said, looking sideways at her. She grinned before pushing him. He toppled and fell head first into the water.

“You’re a bit wet…” She laughed, flicking her hair back behind her shoulders.

“Thanks for that… Hey, I can see Emily… EMILY!” Jamie shouted, waving at the figure in the distance.
