Transfiguration Homework One

Part 1

Name one of The Five Principle Exceptions to Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration. Give an example of something that appears to violate that exception and explain why it doesn't.

Part 2

Practice your reverto and horolos spells with a partner. Select an item, and use horolos to turn it into a watch or clock. Then, switch items with your partner and use reverto to restore it.

Submit a (short) explanation of what you did, keeping in mind our lesson's focus on recognizing the properties of items.

Notes

5th year students and above may, but are not required, to use an animal for this transfiguration. Anyone caught practicing on an animal other than their own or one that a friend has given explicit permission to use will not receive points for this exercise.

translation: you will not find random creatures on the grounds/in the castle and transfigure them; you will not kidnap someone's pet.

Homework is due TWO WEEKS from the date and time of this post. (8am EST, June 8) PM your homework to AmbiguouslyMe, following the instructions posted on the Transfiguration Noticeboard. If you are having difficultly finding a partner, please see Professor Kingsley.

Late homework (up to 24 hours) will be eligible for half credit.
