Owen...

A very intense and intellectual chapter. I loved it! Also liked the subtle way you introduced so many bits and pieces, as to what was to come.

I can honestly say that Cei is my favourite character now. He is intense, almost fierce in his thoughts, yet is still able to show kindness and dare I say it, love, to the Potter/Weasley kids...

Quote:
"The lesson they teach us is simple." Cei's tone had become almost reverent, "fear can be effective against people, at keeping them in line. But all it takes is one individual to stand up, to break that loop and the cycle is broken."
I love this passage. It is so true; yet people seem too dim or maybe self-absorbed in their fear to realize its truth.

Quote:
"Fear breeds hate. Hate breeds vengeance. Vengeance breeds war."
A very strong argument... and as in the case of fear, it simply takes one person with a rational thought to break the cycle. Funny how one little glitch or as in this case, person, has the power and ability to eliminate the fuel (fear) needed for war.

Quote:
"It happens I do. Love is the most powerful force in the universe. It makes us do crazy things. It thrives on chaos." Cei suddenly slapped his forehead hard, "no. Wait. That's mutual infatuation."
Okay... I'll agree with the first part of this quote, love does cause people to do crazy things; but the jaded glasses must be removed. They blemish the truth, restricting the possibility for true love. Love is not cynical...

Quote:
She did not notice an ever present small red bundle that remained a constant 20 feet behind them.
So, Rose didn't notice the moving package... see how self-absorbing even the thought of love can be on a person? Now... the package... could it be the undercover goblin under there? I wonder... I can't wait to find out.

Quote:
All four of them failed to notice the ruby on the staff weilding kantauride figure light up as Cei approached and fade as he disappeared.
So... is this like Gryffindor's sword...? Does it light up, because Cei is the one true Gyffindor that will be able to make use of it? I look forward to this particular plot development. Intriguing!

The story is beginning to take great shape Owen. Keep it up; I can't wait until the next chapter! Oh!!!! One last comment! I love how you had the girls tie their hair back while in the blustering wind. The tangles they would've had to battle that evening... makes me want to cringe!
