Alrighty, are you guys ready for Chapter 5? I hope so, becuase here it comes.

CHAPTER FIVE: NEW BEGINNINGS
The rest of the holiday vacation seemed to pass by quickly for Emily and Remus. She pondered telling Remus about Sirius several times, but wasn’t sure if he’d take it okay. And then there was the fact that she didn’t want to do it alone. She stayed up at night thinking of writing George back, but decided against it. She wrote Ginny a few letters, but never got any replies. She wished she had more guts—more guts to owl George, more guts to tell Remus the truth about Sirius. Before she knew it, Emily was being dropped off at the train station to go back to school. The Morgan’s had dropped her off so Remus could Apparate into Hogsmeade and then walk there and arrive before the students.

Emily said goodbye to the Morgan’s and their new baby, which they named Allison Renee. She made her way over to Platform 9 ¾ and went through the barrier that was hidden from the muggle eye. She saw a few red heads, but stayed clear of them. She loaded her luggage on the train, keeping Bluejeans with her so she’d have somebody to talk to.

“Come on, Bluejeans, this compartment looks empty,” she mumbled more to herself than to her owl. He fluttered a little in his cage and Emily sighed. She heaved her trunk up into the free space and then undid the latch on Bluejeans’ cage. He flew out and perched on the tip of the windowsill.

“Hey Emily! Are these seats taken?” asked Oliver Wood as he made his way inside the compartment.

“Not at all, Oliver, make yourself at home,” Emily responded. He started to shut the door behind him but somebody’s foot caught it.

“Whoop, do you mind if I sit in here with you two?” asked a boy from Hufflepuff. Emily recognized him as Cedric Diggory. He was very cute.

Emily nodded, blushing slightly.

“As in you do mind?” he asked with a smirk.

Emily grinned. “As in you can sit here if you’d like,” she said barely above a whisper.

He smiled, stepping into the compartment. He picked up his trunk easily and placed it in the free space. Oliver did the same. Cedric sat beside Emily while Oliver, looking quite frustrated, sat across from them. Emily fished in her purse for an owl treat for Bluejeans. While extracting it, she noticed Cedric staring at her with a smirk on his face. She gave Bluejeans the treat, which he took gratefully from her and started nibbling.

“What?” Emily asked, smiling embarrassedly.

“When I look at you and you smile and ask, ‘What?’ all I want to do is kiss you,” Cedric said with a twinkle in his eyes. Emily blushed immensely. She had just met this guy, and he barely knew her.

How come he’s so forward? Emily asked herself. “Well, er, huh,” Emily got out. Her blush intensified tenfold. She looked down, not knowing what to say.

Cedric snickered. “Did that work on you? Because I was hoping it would,” he said.

Oliver looked between the two of them. He was frustrated that Cedric, the guy girls drool over, followed him in here and ruined his chances. He was upset that Cedric was beating him to the punch. And he was desperately waiting for Emily’s response, which determined everything.

“Well, er, not really,” Emily sighed. “I mean it’s a pretty good line, I’m not going to lie, but we barely know each other. Maybe you should have saved that one for some other time,” she chuckled.

“So, there’s going to be another time?” Cedric whispered, scooting closer to her. Emily’s blush, which had been slowly creeping away, made its way back to her cheeks and ears.

“I didn’t mean, I just meant that—” Emily was tongue tied.

“What exactly do you mean?” Cedric asked quietly in a seductive whisper.

“WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME?” Oliver yelled harshly, staring at Emily.

Oh and by the way, the line Cedric says about smiling and saying 'what' and wanting to kiss her--that was from a bumper sticker on Facebook
