She grinned a bit, at the sillyness of it; it was completely daft naming it that, but still, There was nothing she could do about it, was there?
She looked back down to her aloe vera leaf, and began to do what everyone else was doing. Carefully, she muttered "diffino." with her wand pointed to the leaf, and she carefully cut off the spiked edges. Then, she repeated the spell to cut open the middle of the leaf, to get to the goo.
Scooping it out, Iris looked at it. She had no real need for it right now... So she got a vial and poured all of the gel into the phial. There. All done. Well, that bit was, at least.
Hehe.
Herbology wasn't so bad, after all. Quote:

He moved towards the side of the classroom where he'd left a cutting of Mugwort. It looked like a common weed. "Mugwort was used in ancient times, by Roman centurions as a cure for sore feet." He carefully picked off a couple of the leaves and dropped them in a mortar on his desk. "The leaves can be crushed up," he explained, demonstrating as he used a pestle to grind the leaves, "and the result is then placed in your shoes!" Wasn't that cool!? He certainly thought so.
And yes, there were Mugwort leaves in his shoes.
"Now if you'd like to come and snag a few leaves, grab a mortar and pestle from the store cupboard, you can get yourself a cure for foot fatigue!" Yes, that was an instruction. [/COLOR] She watched the professor as he explained about the herb he was going to be teaching them about. It looked pretty... plain. Like a normal weed. For all Iris knew, it COULD be a normal garden weed.
Maybe the professor was just fooling them?
That was unlikely though, because the stuff he was saying sounded really true. And kinda interesting. Iris wouldn't admit that though.
She listened as he said that you mushed them up and then put them in your shoes. EWW! No thanks. It would ruin the shoes. Unless they held magical properties to avoid grass stains on the inside of your shoes. As the professor gave them the instructions, Iris got out of her seat and went to fetch a mortar and pestle, collecting a handful of leaves on her way back.
Iris put her mortar on the workbench, and dropped the leaves into it, like how the professor did. Then she picked up the pestle and started mushing the leaves with it. She crushed and grinded the leaves until they were all mushy and just mush and looked up at the professor. "Professor, what do we do with the Mugwort when its all mushy? ... Because I don't have any need for it. My feet are perfectly fine." She said plainly. Maybe they'd be able to put the mushy leaves into a phial or something, to save them for when they would be needed. |
