"many plants hold healing properties." Nice.
"Lysandra and William," Sage nodded at both in acknowledgement, "are also very correct. Many herbs and plants.. magical or mundane are used in Potions, and so Herbology is quite crucial to a potioneer." Although it was a pretty obvious answer - a gardener needing to know Herbology (well, a wizarding gardener would anyway) - Sage liked this answer. Perhaps because he'd been a gardener himself. "Knowledge of plants is very important to a gardener, you're right, Vashti." This one was a smart answer. Out of the box thinking. "Nice thinking, Evelyn," the Professor complimented with a smile. Yes, a nervous one.. but he was starting to feel a little better now. "Understanding trees and their magical properties is part of Herbology, and therefore is very important to people who are studying in wandlore, yes." "Yes, they do Alcemee!" Sage nodded at her answer, offering her a smile as he did so. "Gardeners, potioneers and healers." And another unique answer!
"Yes, indeed!" Sage said, chilling out a little now he was in his element. Talking about Herbology. "If you're planning to work with Magical Creatures - well, any creature in general really - understanding Herbology is a bonus. Not just for their diet, but for their habitat too!"
"You mean in a culinary career?" Sage asked and nodded some more in Kay's direction. "Of course, a chef would need to know which plants are edible and so on.. so yes."
"Excellent start," the Professor said approvingly, glancing around the room once more. "They're all very good answers, but today we're going to be focusing on just one of those. Healing." He wondered how many of these students were interested in a career in that field.
"Whether you're interested in the field of healing or not," he started, continuing his thoughts, "understanding the properties of medicinal plants could help you out one day." It had helped him. Numerous times. "Maybe even save your life. Anyone know of any plants that contain healing properties?"
The plants he'd strategically placed around the room all had some special healing property. Daniel raised his hand and said, "Professor, there are these bubotuber that has properties to treat acne, and nettles that can cure boils." he said and then smiled at the Professor.
