I used to do ballet... and I've just started to learn how to sew. Do they count as something that's creative and illustrative?" Iris frowned slightly as she thought about it. She saw how sewing was creative, but not so much the other two.
As she listened to Gold tell her about her Destiny Number, Iris found herself confused a bit. Lifting soul and spirit? Iris hoped that meant metaphorically, like ... making people happier. Not... actually raising spirits and souls. Either way, she nodded and smiled. Most of it sounded like a pretty good destiny. "Yeah... It does." Hehe. Iris looked at her book, which truthfully, she didn't know very well, "Okay... You're numbers..."
She flicked to the page with the life path numbers and ran her finger down the page til she got to Golds number, "Well, your Life Path number is Nine..." Iris looked to the book and frowned. She wasn't sure how to 'interpret' it, without just reading the book. "Soooo.... You're someone who, er... Seems to understand everything... or at least, how everything works together." She looked up at Gold with a look that said 'What, exactly, does interconnectedness mean?' before carrying on, "And that you are like, good at healing stuff... But not always medically. Hmm... It says that you're a type of person that heals by really connecting with other people through creative stuff. Like painting." Iris didn't really understand how that was meant to heal someone. Anyways... "So... You would probably do well in a career that was like ... something to do with healing or education. You probably already know that... Like.. maybe subconsiously if you didn't, because I saw you at the Healers booth at that job fair. Hehe." Iris grinned a little as she decided that her interpretation was enough for the Life Path Number.
Then she turned the page to the Destiny Numbers. Eleven. So... Iris' interpretation was going to be very much like Gold's. LE SIGH.
Interpreting was hard work. But thats why she liked it. "Well... You, too, have an awesome Destiny Number. And you've got to pretty much do all the stuff I have to, in order to fulfil your destiny path. hehe." She knew that wouldn't be enough for an interpretation, so she looked at the book, and skimmed through the section. "So... You're meant to go into a job that's got leadership in it... Because it says that Number 11's are good leaders. And your a prefect, so your already half way there, in your school career, that is." She smiled at Gold, to show her that Iris thought that being a Prefect was pretty damn cool before carrying on, "and... The book says that " Your job is to rehabilitate, augment, and transform others' lives. Learning to express your teaching ability, rising to the challenge, and stepping into the spotlight will provide opportunity to embrace your destiny. You're destined for inspired leadership. Live up to the demands of devotional living and you shall be the leader your were born to be. " So... I think that means that you're meant to, like... run some kind of business or become REALLY influencial. But if you include the stuff from your Life Path number, then... I reckon it will be something good, like in education or the West End; Y'know... Something that everyone will benefit positively from. I don't see you going into leadership in the Ministry... Because there's no creativity there. It's just... Telling Wizarding Britain what to do. And even if you got there, you wouldn't be fulfilling all of your destiny number, because it isn't, in my eyes, a creative career, and not all Ministers lead for the better, either."
Iris basically thought that Gold would end up becoming a Head Teacher and completely improving a school into something amazing, or taking over the West End, or the Wizarding equivalent, so as to 'heal people' with the Arts. hehe.
That was a lot of talking for Iris. 'Specially seeing as though she doesn't know Gold very well. Gold nodded. "Definitely," she agreed. "Dance is definitely an art. It speaks of emotions, and can convey what we can't in words, which also makes it illustrative. Sewing is a creative activity, too. I know it takes quite an effort, to master it and perfect one's skills."
She grinned, when Iris began to interpret her Life Path Number. "I wouldn't say I understand everything," she laughed. "But I believe there is a connection between all matter, a universality in the universe, so to speak." Ooh, healing! "I interned with a well-known healer, this summer," Gold said, cheerfully. "I want to be a healer, it's my passion."
Then Iris said that she had seen her, Gold, at the Healers' booth, and Gold nodded. "Right you are!" Hehe.
"Oh, I don't think our numbers are meant to be taken separately," she said, shaking her head. "In my opinion, no interpretation stands true on its own. Not even five or ten. We have a whole set of numbers, and Professor Shackleton told me last year that even the core of all of them, doesn't always have to be true. I mean, some of the stuff they say only appears at certain instances in time. It's all interconnected, I think. But we can't apply all of it, at one certain point in life."
She nodded, then. "No Ministry for me," she laughed. "Maybe I can be head curse-breaker at Gringotts, or something?" She knew she wanted to be a curse-breaker. "Or some sort of head healer? I know that would be pleasant." Gold would love that, in fact.
AND then they had to pack up. Gold frowned - she had been enjoying this discussion - and then, dipping her quill in her signature, PINK! ink, jotted the homework down. That done, she beamed up at Iris. "It was lovely, talking to you!" she said cheerfully. "Have a fun day."
Then she collected her belongings, rose to her feet, and beamed at Professor Hadley. "Thanks for the wonderful lesson, ma'am."
Time to head back, now. |
