Alyss continued to smile innocently. "Between Al and I?" she smirked. "We are kind of dating now. I think we look cute together, don't you think?"

Jay shrugged “ Thought you tried that already without Success remember.”

Jay could help but feel a little smug that his presents had been enough to cause Potter to move his hands off Alyss.

Jay frowned at her admittance that Al was her boyfriend he didn’t see him as the type that could fit well with her. “Cute wouldn’t exactly be how I would put it.” Jay thought jealously as he watched Al Potter start to walk off. “Hey Potter wait!” Jay called walking after the Gryffindor more for the purpose of not having to hear Alyss talk about liking him. Jay caught up with Al just before he could reach the corner. He paused for only a second not sure how to put what he was wanting to say in a nice way. “So... Aly thinks the two of you might be something worthwhile huh?” He asked finding it a little more complicated to make his point than he wanted it to. Jay stuffed his hands in his pockets. “ That’s…” He struggled for a polite word to use. “… nice..” Eventhough his tone might not have sounded sincere he was trying. “what I mean is.. She’s... Look I’m not gonna go around pretending to be your best friend cause we both know you and I are completely different so there is no point in pretending to be pals… But Alyss is my friend I’ve known her my whole life. So regardless what anyone thinks about us Slytherins. I just wanted to let you know there is NOTHING I wouldn’t do for her if she needed me to. That includes squashing anyone that hurts her…” Jay gave him an even you sort of look. “Just make sure your not just playing her along.” Jay said before he turned and made his way back to the common room without breakfast. Suddenly he just wasn’t hungry anymore.
