Mat had probably daydreaming the whole time. Having hear bits here and there he wasn't sure what he was suppose to do now. Seeing as everyone seems to be partnering up he looked around him to search for someone who was alone. He couldn't spot anyone so instead of searching he stood up.

Jen walked over to the older looking boy and smiled with shocking courage. "Yeah, sure, I'll be your partner. If that's okay of course..." Jen's voice trailed off as she wondered whether the boy would want to be partners with a first year.
