Agyness Badwan strolled into the Great Hall, her lips pursed and her chin held high in it's typical haughty manner. The few who noticed her entrance quickly turned their gaze away as to not evoke her wrath. A small smirk quickly came and left her lips as she knew that fear coursed through their veins. It was only too obvious that they were afraid of receiving a glare, possibly even a snide remark, from one of the most cold-hearted Ravenclaws to ever study at Hogwarts. She came to sit towards the center of the Ravenclaw table, making sure that she sat next to no one. Agyness was the poster-child for being antisocial, and she knew that no one would dare sit within a five foot radius of where saw had perched on the wooden bench.
Crossing her legs, she placed an elbow on the table and rested her head on her hand, her long, ginger locks of hair falling forward to frame her sharp features. Her oxford-shoed foot began to tap slowly as she had already become bored with the proceedings. Really, was this medieval times all over again? Why must people have their mates chosen for them? Agyness privately relished in the fact that no suitor would be found for her. All who came across her knew that she was a force to be dealt with, a strong, independent young woman who needed no man for guidance, nor wanted one. Most men did not even dare approach her at all anymore; most were too frightened that Agyness might literally tear out their heart and stomp on it right then and there. She sighed softly, hoping that this little, obnoxious assembly would be over so she could return back to her studies. Neville Longbottom stumbled into the Great Hall, having tripped over a cracked stone in the floor. Quickly recovering, her straightened out the wrinkles on his button-up dress shirt. Was it really necessary to go through with this? Neville knew that after the war, his attractiveness had increased due to what the ladies had dubbed "studly behavior." After hearing of how Neville had been one of the key leaders in the resistance, some girls tended to throw themselves at him. But Neville being Neville, he simply blushed and refused thier requests. True, Neville's Gryffindor colors had truly shone brightly during his heroic performance during the battle. But other than his bravery crawling out, his shyness around people, especially girls in general, was the same.
Neville took a seat towards the head of the Gryffindor table, smiling and giving Luna a small wave as he spotted her with her spectrespecs on. She was definitely a bit of a loon, but she was one of his best friends. Next to Hermione and Ginny, Luna was one of the few, if only, girls that he could speak to without getting hot under the collar. She was always so calm, which seemed to have a soothing effect on Neville's frayed nerves. |
