Preston crossed his arms across his chest, watching the boy stare at the ceiling. "Your full name, please," he replied, clearly not amused. "And you may call me Professor Kingsley."
Meeting the young man's eyes, Preston's face was quite serious. "As to your question, it's a complicated answer. Yes, human transfiguration is possible as you clearly know, or should, from your texts. It can be quite difficult and until mastered should only be practiced in highly supervised settings. But as to vanishing, that is incredibly complex magic that I would strongly caution nearly everyone against. Students may graduate without being able to vanish even small animals. And it does not "get rid" of people."
Preston narrowed his eyes, as though as if by doing so, he could see the boy's intentions. "Performing either type of spell on another person without their express knowledge and permission is a very serious thing. To do so in my classroom or my presence would, at the very least, land someone in detention."
Leaning back in his chair, Preston picked up his tea and took a long sip. His voice taking on a lighter quality, he smiled. "Other questions?"
