History: Luna was born in her childhood home on the hill near the weasley's burrow to her wizarding parents. Her mother died after one of the "quite extraodinary" witch's spells went horribly wrong. Luna was only 9 years old and misses her motehr terribly. She is said to resemble her mother greatly. Her father is the editor of the Quibbler Magazine, a magazine that is considered to be a joke in the Wizarding World however she believes in everything within it and reads it upside down. Her father gave her the strange beliefs that she now truely believes in.

When Luna attended Hogwarts, she was greatly teased and often refered to as Loony Lovegood. Her belongings often went missing, which she put down to Nargles stealing them. However it was other students who hid them. She eventually resulted in posting up notices in the common room but found them eventually.

Luna became very good friends with the golden trio after a shaky start. The trio believed that she was Loony when they first met but came to accept her eventually. Luna has a painting on her ceiling that has pictures of Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny and Neville all linked by a gold chain of the repeated word 'friends'.

Personality: Luna is very out of it most of the time. She quite literally floats around Hogwarts in a dream like state. She is a very dedicated person, reflected by the fact that she stayed at Hogwarts during the final wizarding war and stood up for what she believed to be right. She is also loyal to the Golden Trio, risking her life for the trio. She doesn't care what others think about her. She has her beliefs and she sticks by them no matter what everyone else thinks which gives her a sense of dignity about her.

Luna is more serene and composed than most of her friends. She appears to be detatched and often stares off into space. She has the ability to see Thestrals and cares deeply for the majestic magical creatures. She believes that she will be able to see her mother again in the afterlife, a thought that comforted Harry.

Luna is a clever witch, no matter whether others disagreed, otherwise she wouldn't have been placed into Ravenclaw. She is very skilled in magic thanks to Dumbledore's Army and Harry's training.
