2. Avada Kedavra

It was late; very late, as Andromeda heard the clock downstairs strike midnight. Both her sisters were asleep, but she could still here the clattering of someone downstairs. Slowly, she got up, thirsty for a glass of water. Yawning quietly, she stumbled a little as she made her way down the stairs. There was very little noise as she got to the living room. In fact, it was empty.
Maybe her parents were in bed; Andromeda wasn’t sure, but she continued to the kitchen anyway, her throat dry. She reached up and grabbed a glass from the sink, and filled it with water. Taking careful sips and walking slowly, she shuffled back toward the staircase.
But wait.
There was a muffled voice coming from the basement. Someone was screaming down there. Meda dropped her glass and ran down, quick as she could. Before she reached the bottom of the stairs, she saw a flash of green, and her father’s voice.
“Avada Kedavra!” Cygnus had cried, as Meda turned the corner. Slumped over the chair was the body of their neighbour, and Meda’s father looking far too accomplished; until he saw Andromeda’s horrified expression.
“Daddy!” Meda cried, “What have you done?!”
