Allie paused for a moment to take another long, hard look around the room. As she did this, the expression on her face deepened into one of even more concern. She glanced towards the department heads once again then began speaking.
"I had hoped that in getting your attention and asking all of you to take a seat, my words would also draw the attention of Miss Reagan Taylor, our Minister of Magic. However, it's clear that won't be the case," she said, her voice shaking a little. She was normally a great public speaker, but the news she needed to reveal was far to unsettling to leave room for any public-speaking skills.
"Minister Taylor has been away for quite some time. She has been on a tour of foreign ministries and has been communicating with me via her fireplace on a daily basis. The last time I heard from her, though, was two days ago, when she left---on schedule---for her next visit," she continued. She stopped to clear her throat and gather her thoughts before speaking again. "She was meant to make it back here for this Education Fair. She should have been here by now."
Allie took a deep breath and tried to compose herself a little. Being nervous and fearful was making it hard to say what she so desperately needed to say. "I contacted the foreign ministry Miss Taylor was meant to be arriving at, and they have reported that she never showed up. We---we believe something terrible has happened to the Minister. I'm afraid we might be in some sort of d---..."
