Personality: Harry is exceedingly courageous as well as fiercely loyal to and protective of his loved ones. He will go to great lengths to save and help others, especially his loved ones, which was dubbed a “saving-people thing” by his friend Hermione Granger. He has a great capacity to love, which was often noted by the late Albus Dumbledore. He is strong-willed and unafraid to stand up for himself and others, as well as hot-tempered and impulsive.
Background: Harry is the only child of Lily and James Potter, who both died over a year later on the evening of October 31st, 1981, when Voldemort arrived at the Potters’ home to murder them with the Killing Curse. Harry would have died as well if it had not been for his mother’s sacrifice. Her love protected him and caused Voldemort’s curse to backfire, bringing about his first defeat (this also is what gave Harry the lightning bolt scar on his forehead). Harry was then sent to live with his aunt and uncle, the Dursleys. For ten years, he had no knowledge of how his parents died until he received his Hogwarts letter from Rubeus Hagrid on his eleventh birthday. When he attended Hogwarts, he was sorted into the Gryffindor house and became best friends with Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. Just recently, this past May in fact, he defeated Voldemort for the final time and finally ended the Second Wizarding War.
