I decided that the last post was the end of chapter two. Alrighty, here is a wee little bit...

Chapter three: Confessions
The wind felt nice against her skin. It left chill bumps on her arms. She sighed as she closed her eyes and breathed in the fresh air. She felt the sunlight caress her skin, warming her up. Lying back on the broom, Emily rested her head on its bristles. Emily floated in midair above the Quidditch pitch. She was hoping nobody would look up and see her. She wasn’t really sure if she wanted visitors. She listened to the faint laughing from the ground; it was so carefree and light. She wished she could be that carefree. She wished she could laugh everything off, but that just wasn’t in the cards right now.

Emily felt her heart beat against her chest and thought about how badly her lesson had went. It still confused her that her greatest fear was her father when she knew that all she wants to do is meet him. She heard quickened wind coming her way and knew that she was no longer alone.

“I thought you had plans with Remus,” said George.

“Unless, of course, you made them up so you wouldn’t have to hang out with us,” stated Fred.

Emily slowly sat up on her broom and opened her eyes. “He was going to give me a private lesson, but it didn’t go so well,” she said quietly.

“What kind of lesson?” asked Fred.

“Why didn’t it go so well?” asked George.

“He was going to teach me how to fight Dementors,” she answered Fred.

“Why didn’t it go so well?” repeated George.

“It didn’t go so well because he ended up making me fight a boggart first,” replied Emily.

“Why would that make it go bad? Wasn’t the boggart a piece of cake?” asked Fred confusedly.

“Was it the darkness again?” George asked quietly.

Emily was surprised that George hadn’t told Fred what she had confided in him. He usually told his twin everything; she knew he already told him about the journal.

Shaking her head, Emily replied, “No, it wasn’t the darkness.”

“What darkness?”
asked Fred looking from one to the other.

Emily glanced at Fred. “I had tried fighting a boggart last year, but my greatest fear was the unknown and it kinda engulfed me. I haven’t been able to face one since.” Fred just nodded, showing he understood.

“If it wasn’t the darkness—” George started.

“It was Sirius,” Emily whispered. “But it wasn’t my Sirius,” Emily tried explaining.

“What do you mean?” asked George.

“It was the Sirius from the posters. I don’t know how to explain it. It’s just that those posters have haunted me for a long time and it just doesn’t seem like him. I guess I’m scared that he will end up being like the guy from the posters. Every time I see the posters, I doubt his innocence.”

“Emily, that’s understandable. You’ve never met him before; you aren’t sure if he really will be the man from the posters or not. Don’t worry about it and go with your gut, your heart,”
said George.

“I’m not sure if I can. I need to do something. I’ve been thinking about it for a while now, and I was wondering if y’all would do it with me?” Emily asked.

“Whatever it is, we’re in,” said Fred.

“I need to find him,” stated Emily. “I don’t think he’s left the grounds from the night he attacked the Fat Lady. I think I know where he might be,” she explained.

“Where do you think he is? The Forbidden Forest?” asked George. Emily shook her head.

“I think he’s in the Shrieking Shack,” Emily said.

“That’s hardly on school grounds, Ems; it’s in Hogsmeade,” said Fred.

“Well, actually, there’s a way to get there from the grounds. Remus told me about it when I was a kid. They used to always go in there,” Emily said.

“Oh, yeah? Exactly how do we get to it from—” Fred started, but stopped immediately remembering the map.

“The Whomping Willow?” asked the twins together.

“The Whomping Willow,” stated Emily.

“How come you never told us about it?” George asked.

“It just never came up,” said Emily shrugging her shoulders. “So, what do you say?” asked Emily.

“I’m in,” said Fred.

“Me too,” said George. “When do you think we should go?” he asked.

“I was thinking during lunch, when everyone’s in the Great Hall,” said Emily. Fred and George just nodded.

“So, until lunch, what would you like to do?” asked Fred. “I think Lee is a little bored down there without us,” laughed Fred. Emily and George looked down at Lee’s figure. He was staring up at them. They all started laughing while tilting their brooms downward. They all landed with a silent thud upon the ground.

“It’s about time,” said Lee. Emily, George, and Fred started laughing again while Lee gave them a quizzical look.

Turning around, they all made their way to the lake. Emily and George flapped down by their tree while Fred and Lee started playing exploding snaps.
