"Move a little at a time. Fingers, hands, arms... toes, feet, legs... Let me know if anything feels off." A huge sigh of contentment escaped her lips as first cream was applied to her swollen eye and then to her burn. Oh God Almighty. It was bliss.
Before she knew it she could peer out from that eye and when she tried smiling she didn't feel the burn crack painfully. In fact, it didn't hurt at all.
Smiling excitedly as Lina instructed her to move all her body parts, she began with her toes...wiggling them inside her jazz shoes. Then her ankles, this way and that in the letter O. Glad that the burns there hadn't been severe. Then came her legs, she bent them at the knees and everything. Her hips seemed to be able to move just fine too.
Fingers...check. Opposable thumbs. Thumbs up.
Wrists still good for her violin. Elbows...good hinges.
And then it came down to the part she was scared of. Her upper arms..or more precisely her left upper arm. Where there had been a huge gaping hole with ice slivers and now there was only healing scar tissue. Closing her eyes tightly, she slowly lifted her arm waiting for any twinge of pain.
Hmm...
She tried flapping it a few times and waving it in the air. Sure it felt a bit stingy and stiff and not as strong as her right arm and if she poked which she just had it would hurt but she didn't really plan on doing that constantly.Like she was doing.
Satisfied that it was good enough to continue on, she moved her head this way and that happy to not feel the heaviness in her skull anymore. Reaching her hand to the back of her head where she had the open wound she found it was closed healed closed with just a big bump as evidence.
Moving her hands around to her face she felt around and made a bunch of funny facial expressions. Bubbly Pilliwickle. Grumpy Kazi. Smirking Lawson.
Alright face...check!
It wasn't until she tried to sit up that she noticed the faint twinge of pain on her side and tightness in her chest. But she figured it was only to be expected. Assuming her injuries hadn't spontaneously appeared then she'd been through a lot.
She tried not to think about that too much right now. Her memory that is. Better to live in the moment. And when it decided to come crawling back it would. "Everything seems fine...you know considering. Arm's a bit stiff, chest a bit tight, side a bit sore but apart from that I have not been better in..." she tried to think back but found she couldn't."Well in a while...I think. Thank you," she said sincerely. "If it hadn't been for you...well." She turned to look at the small pool of blood she'd left behind from her fall."Well I'm just not gonna think about it." Leaning forward, she gave the girl a small hug to show she meant it.
Getting to her feet that's when she realized the state of her clothes. She looked a bit like a female Tarzan. Well considering her pajamas were now shorts and her top and jacket were crop tops at best.
Digging into her holster for her wand, she tried her hand at repairing what she could.
