Ok so back what i first started this fan fic i made a personal goal to hit 10,000 words in a month (lofty i know) so today i hit my goal with one word to spare.
I realized afterword that had i continued to write in the month of November i would have reached this goal in 9 days!
so my new goal is to hit the next 10,000 in a month at which point this story will likely meet its close.
Anyway here is my next installment!
Chapter 7 - Music to His Ears Part 1
The sound of piano music filled the firelit sitting room where the Malfoy’s and Cassie sat watched Narcissa play on the antuque mahogany grand piano. Lucius’s prideful gaze never left his wife as he sat across the room on a leather sofa while Belatrix paced the room picking up objects mindfully. Draco’s gray eyes every so often caught Cassie’s from across the room where he stood by the fire.
A pop was heard as Fefe entered the room appering at Lucius’s side “ Sir”
‘Scilence you filthy beast” Lucius angrily replied without looking away from his wife who was so involved in playing she did not even notice Fefe’s arrival.
“But Sir it’s…”
“What did I say” He demanded turning and striking Fefe in the head. “My Lord” Lucius exclaimed reverently as he stood to face Voldemort who stood in the doorway.
All eyes were not on the newest guest in the house. Voldemort’s long black cloaks billowed around his bare feet as he walked into the room his eyes not falling on Lucius who now hung his head in a low bow but instead to Draco.
“My Lord your arrival is greatly welcomed to our home” Draco replied stepping forward and also bowing his head.
Voldemort did not walk up to Draco but he stopped in front of his daughter Cassie. “Daughter it is my knowledge that you can play a violin” the tone in his voice was one of near pride. He took out his wand and waved it in his hand and a violin ,her violin from London appeared in his hand . “Play for your hosts” He hissed in parseltongue as he handed the instrument to Cassie.
“My Lord surly you have news of our efforts and this recital can wait until we have completed our business” Belatrix spoke up with a look or wanting.
Casually Voldemort replied “My business is my daughter any further information I have is for Draco not you dear Belatrix.” turning to Cassie he said “ Play something for us my daughter”
Cassie stood up and walked to the piano where Narcissa still sat. Recitals were something she was use to having been given the opportunity to attend Julliard which she dropped out from after only two years. She held the bow to the violin and began to play the piece that got her into Julliard. Voldemort slowly sat down on the sofa and closed his eyes listening to her playing. He only opened his eyes to see Draco who now found the seat closest to where Cassie stood his eyes never leaving her.
When she had finished she looked at her father hoping he would allow her to return to her seat as the violin reminded her of the life she would never be able to regain.
“Your playing is not what it could have been if you had stayed in your muggle school.” He hissed in parse tongue “Narcissa you have had extensive training in music ensure that my daughter continues her musical education. A woman of breeding should be able to entertain as you have done for your husband. “ With that he stood and added “ Draco we must discuss business now. Everyone out!” Turning to Beatrix “If you wish to remain you may do so but do not add your input.”
“May I stay, My Lord?” Lucius asked
With a smirk Voldemort replied “ You may..” he slowed down as Lucius got up eager to be included “You may fetch me mice for my snake”
Lucius bowed low and with brused pride said “ As you wish My Lord” turning to his wife he held his arm out and motioned for her to come to him. Cassie also stood and followed the Malfoys out of the room.
