Cadence looked at him for a moment, eyes unwavering. The one thing she wanted most in the whole entire world was to be in his arms and be comforted by his embrace. But she couldn't have that. No matter how much they both wanted it. His parents had taken that away from them. She simply nodded and let go of his hands. She stared at the ring in her palm, trying to decide what to do with it. Then she had an idea. She took off her necklace, slipped the ring on the chain, and then put it back on. Giving Nate a smile, but not saying a word.
