~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ Nearly running into the waiting room, Sabel's eyes flicked desperately about. His chest rose in ragged pants as he tried to catch his breath. He could feel blood dripping from his fingers as he held Arya securely against his chest. She had passed out nearly as soon as he had picked her up, and her cry of pain still echoed painfully in his ears. Panic had set in moments after he had picked her up; it was too similar to Alexa, too soon after she had come in the same way, reacted the same way.
He knew he should put her down, that it would be more comfortable, but at the moment he couldn't unwrap his fingers from holding her to him. He felt frozen in desperate need, looking for anyone, someone to help. He didn't know if it was the girl in his arms trembling, or himself; didn't know if the blurred vision that overcame him was shock or tears.
