Sighing, she took her copy of the lab and scanned over it. It was a good thing she didn't have to know Astronomy well to do what the instructions told her to do. Following instructions was easy peasy.
When the Professor read the introduction out loud, she looked up from her paper and listened as she talked about Earth's axis and...yeaaah, she got lost after the first paragraph. Looking away from the Professor, she glanced back down at her instructions, looking at the part that told you what materials you needed. Ruler, protractor, graph paper. If she had that stuff or not, it was a mystery to her.
She opened her bag and began to search, but the only thing that came out of that search was a ruler. Well, at least she had one of the materials needed! She was kinda prepared, which was a good thing.
After the introduction was read, she quickly stood up, gathered all her things, and then she headed over to Jack. She got dibs on the smart Astronomy kid! It was always a good thing your boyfriend was a lot smarter in the subject you were horrible at. "Can we be partners?" The Slytherin asked, but before he could answer, she took a seat right next to him at the table. She knew he was going to say 'yes' since he loved her too much to not be partners with her, so she didn't really need to stand there and wait for his already known answer. "I got a ruler, but I don’t have a protractor...or graph paper, though," she added. Jack was glaring over at Torin, who had shone the flashlight in his face numerous times without realizing while he was playing with it, but when he heard Reese approaching, his gears immediately switched in his brain and he turned and smiled at her. "Sure!" he said. He was glad that he was partnered with Reese, since he hadn't gotten the chance to talk to her since the whole missing prefect badge incident...which he did NOT like thinking about. Shudder.
Although, not to sound braggy or anything, he wondered why no one had asked him sooner. He was super good at this class! He reached into his bag and pulled out his protractor, then pulled out a couple of pieces of crumpled up graph paper before finding a clean, smooth one. "AHA! I knew I had a piece in here somewhere," he said with a grin. "I had extras from Arithmancy." "Alright sooooooo we need to set the flashlight up..." he said. He quickly ran and got a flashlight from the ones that the Professor had provided and walked back. He examined it--ok, how did someone turn this on again?! If Torin could do it, he surely could...after a few moments of trying to figure it out, he moved to big black switch on the side and TADA! They had light! "Ok so after I tape it down, what's next?" he asked. He grabbed the spell-o-tape and quickly taped it down on top of the desk.
