#20 Knitting Charm

Nargles

Rose shifted in her armchair over closer to the fire and held up the item in her hand to the light. It was a red and gold scarf, unfinished with tassles on the one end.

She scrutinized her handiwork. She was no whiz at the knitting charm, but one thing was sure; she was better than her mother. Rose could recall her father’s account of the tiny hats her mother once tried to make for the house elves. She had giggled along with her father, but deep down inside she knew what was right.

She was going to free as many elves as she could, darn it!

Albus had told her she was daft, but Rose didn’t care. She shifted again and resumed work on the scarf. The red and gold were anything but an original color pairing, but she thought it would just be easier using Gryffindor colors anyway. They might blend in with the surroundings better.

The next day, Rose walked downstairs to find all her hard work had mysteriously disappeared. Lysander told her that Nargles were probably behind it.
