’Silence is really boring.’; Muggle Studies #2

We were sat in our living room in October 2079. Just me and him. Little Cody was sitting on the floor playing with baby Shana’s toys while she slept. It was the silence that captivated my ability to speak as I lay on my sofa, feet in his lap.

Moments later, he spoke. “Tam?”

“Mmmmmhmmm?”
“You know when you opened your NEWT results?”

This had nothing to do with anything previously said, but you know. Silence is really boring. So I answered.

“Yeah?”
“Which one was your favourite?”
“Muggle Studies!”
“Wasn’t that the only one you passed?” He laughed.
“Exactly.”
