Carter stopped as Marilyn grabbed him. Hadn't he made it clear that he wanted nothing to do with them? Maybe if she had given him the decency of talking and not having a huge fight... maybe if she and Rafe would have listened to him say that that was something that he and her needed to do alone...

But no. There was a huge fight which sent him to the hospital wing with the most uncomfortable (and though he'd never admit it... slightly painful) boils. He nearly got interrogated by the nurse. Not to mention that Cadence was there for the whole thing.

No, he was not in the mood for apologies. And there really was nothing she could say to make anything about this situation better.

But nevertheless he turned around and stood looking very clearly both agitation and impatient. He then waited for her to say whatever she felt like she needed to say. (Because apparently cursing him behind his back wasn't enough.)
