" Well," He began, as she informed him it was just a game." I get that. It's just...you know. Intense. Not that I don't think YOU can handle it, because YOU most certainly can. Such a...tough cookie you are, " He said uncertainly.

Recovering from that, he thought about what to say again. " I'm sorry. I know I can't change what happened with what I'm saying, but...I am sorry. For your fingers hurting and everything else." He waited a minute or so to speak again and he had to smile. " However, I think this year I'm going to have something pretty nifty to look back on. You know. Having a girlfriend and all." He said, trying to find the silver lining in all of this. Then he realized she was probably just still sore and displeased." I'm sure Healer Ashford will be out soon and have you healed in no time," He offered, trying for the more normal route of comforting.
Adrienne couldn't help but fall for Phoebus' attempts at cheering her up with Riley's being scared of her. Both because the idea of her brother finally having a reason to respect her was awesome and because it was sweet how Phoebus wanted her to cheer up. "Well, it's not like I can see myself when I'm Beating," she pointed out with another small smile. "I'll just have to take your word on it." And the reactions she sometimes got from the people she played against, not that she usually paid a lot of attention to that during matches.

As he went on to talk about the intensity of Quidditch, a thoughtful expression crossed her face. He did have a point, although the intensity was often the fun part. For her, at least. She could understand why her mother had loved it so much. But at his comment about her, she looked at him again. "That kind of sounds like when I was talking about 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' with Dylan on the train beginning of this term. A quote I mentioned to him: 'And though she be but little, she is fierce.'" she let herself laugh a little, even though it was still a little half-hearted given her continued feelings about the match. "I always pretend that's about me."

And then he was apologizing for her disappointment over the match, and her expression turned somber again. "It's not like you had anything to do with it all," she started, "but thank you." She leaned her head on his shoulder, before she heard the next thing he said. At least that was a good part of the term. "Yeah," she said softly. It would have been nicer if they hadn't had to wait til after the holidays for it to really be official, but there wasn't much they could do about that without a time turner. She looked back at her hand as he mentioned Healer Ashford and the hope she'd be out to heal her soon, though. "I know. But there's a lot of other people in here needing help too, so I'm sort of getting used to waiting." At least she had him to sort of snuggle with, because it was helping with at least her psychological issues over the loss. Even if he couldn't help her fingers very well. She had a feeling he'd try if he knew how.
