Gabriella narrowed her eyes in confusion as she listened to Adam describe the casualties his wand had suffered. "You're asking me to heal your wand, as well?" she questioned, making sure she'd heard correctly. She hadn't exactly ever been asked to heal an object before.
Despite how odd the request was, Gabriella tried her best to help. "I'm afraid there's no way to actually heal your wand. You see, because a wand is made of such strong magic, it can't be healed with Reparo. That spell may piece the wood back together, but it won't piece the magic back together," she reported, giving the boy an apologetic look.
"I remember hearing how Harry Potter once pieced Ron Weasley's wand back together with the Elder Wand...but that was the Elder Wand, not an everyday wand," she continued. Poor Adam. She was sure he'd be crushed when he heard what else she had to say. "I'm afraid you'll need to owl Ollivander's for a new one, dear..."
Looking at the Healer hopefully, Adam crossed his fingers behind his back. Just so that she couldn't see them. But he didn't know why he was crossing them, because she
had to be able to heal it! She was clever, and a witch, and a healer! She
had to be able to do it... Riight?
"Erm... well, yeah I was asking. You can do i..." he began, but trailed off, his fingers slacking behind his back.
She couldn't do it. Trying not to let his face fall, Adam realised he should've guessed.
"Yeah, we tried that," he said, motioning to the paste covered burn on his face. Result of Lori's failed attempt at
'Reparo'. Not that it was her fault. She hadn't known that it wouldnt work.
"I think I heard something about that, yeah..." Adam said with a shrug, running his hand through his hair.
"I'll do that. Write to Olivanders..." Yeah, he would. He'd go and find Lori now, and then go to the Owlery, and send it to the wand shop.
"But thanks Miss," he finished. Standing up from the edge of the bed.
"And thanks for the advice and everything."
