How bad could Defense Against the Dark Arts be? Really?

Gilderoy knew he could handle this; it was going to be easy. Certainly MUCH easier than obliviating the memories of all those pesky wizards he based his books off of. All he needed to do was whip out his wand, teach the young kiddies a bunch of tricks, and they’d all sit back in their chairs and admire them, just like everyone else.

Plus, free room and board!

Oh yes, Gilderoy Lockhart had no doubts about teaching this class. After all, this was HOGWARTS—what could possibly go wrong there?
