She'd never have imagined that there were so many different kinds of superheroes. Again, most wizarding stories she knew had to do with some old wizard chasing after some golden trinket or something, or a young wizard chasing after a young witch while carrying another golden trinket, such as a diamond ring.
Oh, sure, the superhero formula seemed relatively simple - some guy (Were there any women superheroes? Kiri wondered) either invented something really useful or was hit by something really dangerous that turned out to be useful and then used that to fight similarly powerful enemies - but since it was all new to Kiri, it was all exciting. She'd never heard of a wizard with a secret identity!
Although, since all witches and wizards had to leave in hiding from Muggles, maybe that meant they all shared a secret identity of sorts? That was an intriguing thought. It also occurred to Kiri that some of these powers the superheroes had were reminiscent of things she could do with her wand. Maybe there weren't any superheroes in the wizarding world because it did not occur to anyone to think of these abilities as extraordinary.
A few metres away, the preparations for the storytelling with Professor Lupa seemed to have been almost completed. Kiri grabbed another Chocolate Frog and slid around on her sleeping bag until she could see better. "Here," she said, opening the wrapper and tossing the card to Dylan, "you can have that. And I think the story's just about to start."
Dylan took another frog, and took a bite out of its head. Mmmmm chocolate. He wondered if there were cream filled chocolate frogs. They would taste nice. Maybe he could make them. Take and bite and cream all splurts out. Sounded like a plan.
His ears picked up to hear if the story had started. It hadn't quite yet. He peered down at his
shirt. Well Headmaster Tate's shirt. Nope he hadn't yet got any chocolate down it. He didn't plan on doing it either.
"Thanks," he caught the card. "Oooo a Gwenog Jones. I don't know if I need her. You sure you don't want this one? Captain of the Harpies in the 1980's." She was kind of cute.
"Which comic do you want to read? Anyone in particular? Fantastic Four has Susan Storm. She is Invisible Woman."
