Hogwarts RPG Name: Sidney Marlowe Third Year x7
| Double Agent Stamps! Sidney looks up from her potion notes. The sand in the hour glass have run out. Time to check the potion. Let's see... Sidney reads the potion instructions. Quote:
The potion should now have a slight green tinge to it. Let the potion cool. Then pour the potion into individual vials.
There are a couple of ingredients that can be added to the potion. If you suffer from nightmares, add a pinch of Purslane leaves. Purslane is also known as Pigweed. Add a pinch of Purslane after the Chamomile has been added, and the potion has simmered for twenty minutes. Make sure to stir the potion five time counter clockwise.
She looks at her potion. It has a slight green tinge. Perfect, now I want to add the Purslane to some of the potion. I don't want to add it to all the potion, just a small amount. Sidney looks around. I can laddle some of the potion into a smaller cauldron, add the Purslane, and then stir it as directed. That should work. Sidney walks to the storage table and gets one of the school small cauldrons and a laddle. She takes it to her work stationand laddles some of the warm potion into it. Sidney goes to the Potion Stores and looks for the bottle of Purslane Plant. Here it is. There isn't a lot in the bottle. I wondered if I should points this out to Professor Kazimeriz. Sidney takes it back to her work station and takes about six leaves out of the bottle. She then checks her mortar and pestle making sure she cleaned them properly. They look clean to me. I need to grind a pinch. Sidney grinds the leaves until they are a powder. She measures a half of a quarter of a teaspoon. Sidney puts it into the potion and stirs it five times counter clockwise. That should do it for this part of the potion. I'd better mark the cauldron that it also has Purslane in it. Don't want to get the potions mixe up when I bottle them. Now I need another cauldron to add the ginger to the potion. Sidney read the Potion instructions carefully again. She doesn't want to make a mistake. Quote:
If you need a more powerful sleeping draught, you can add a pinch of fresh ginger root. The ginger should be peeled and cut into small pieces. It is then crushed using your mortar and pestal. Add a pinch of ginger to give the potion and extra kick. You would also add this ingredient after the chamomile has been added and the potion has simmered for twenty minutes. Stir five times counter-clockwise just like you did with the Purslane. Both the Purslane and Ginger can be added to the same potion. Follow the same direction for adding the ingredients individually. The addition of the two ingredients will increase the effectiveness of the potion’s anti-nightmare powers.
Okay, I need to wash my mortar and pestle before crushing the ginger. The laddle too. Can't be too careful when brewing a potion. Sidney collects the mortar, pestle, and laddle and takes them to the sink. She washes and dries them. Sidney places them at her work station and gets another small cauldron. She laddles the plain potion into the cauldron. Sidney then goes to the Potion Stores and get some ginger. She finds a jar full of ginger. Its scent fill the store when Sidney opens the jar. Sidney takes out one piece of ginger She squeezes it to make sure the ginger is fresh. She replace the jar on the proper shelf and takes her piece to her work station. Using her knife, Sidney cuts off a piece of ginger, and then peels it. She then cuts it into smaller pieces. She place some of the pieces into her mortar and grinds it up. Let's see. I need pinch of ginger root too. That's not too much. Sidney measure the right amount and adds it to the potion. Again she stirs the potion five times counter clockwise. That should be everything. I should be able to get several vials of the plain potion and a few with the purslane and ginger added. Let me label this cauldron as holding the potion with ginger. Okay, I need to let the potions cool and then I can laddle them into the appropriate vials. While she waits for the potion to cool, Sidney cleans up her work station. She finds small jars to put the extra ginger into a small jar. Sidney throws out the extra ginger that was ground. It can't be used once it's been ground. She then washes her mortar and pestle plus the laddle again. Sidney also finds two extra laddles to use to laddle the potiong into the vials.
She has some time to kill while she waits for the potions to cool. She gets her Potion Journal and updates her entries for this potion. Quote: - Checked Potion

Sidney puts her Journal, quill, and ink to one side. She checks her potion. They are all cool, so I can now bottle them. Sidney finds a tray and collects enough vial to pour her potions into. She starts with the plain Sleeping Draught. Sidney laddles her potion out of her cauldron and pours it into the individual vials. She fill about five vials. Sidney marks them Quote:
Simple Sleeping Draught
Brewed by Sidney Marlowe in Potion Lab
Hufflepuff First Year
She then fill the vials with the Simple Sleeping Draught with Purslane.
Sidney marks these three vials Quote:
Simple Sleeping Draught with Purslane added
Brewed by Sidney Marlowe in Potion Lab
Hufflepuff First Year
She follows the same proceedure with the third potion. Sidney laddles it into three vials and marks them Quote:
Simple Sleeping Draught with Ginger Added
Brewed by Sidney Marlowe in Potion Lab
Hufflepuff First Year.
Sidney wipes every vial carefully and makes sure the top is in securely. She then performs a sealing charm on each vial. Sidney places the vials back on the tray and places it to one side. She then collects up the three cauldrons, laddles, mortar, pestle, knife, and stirring stick. Sidney takes everything to the sink and washes and dries it carefully. She returns the stirring stick and caudrons to their proper place. Sidney then remembers the bowels she used. She grabs then and washes them in the sink. Sidney then dries them and returns them to where she found them. She backs up her cauldron, mortar, pestle, knife, and potion kit. Sidney then makes one final entry in her Potion Journal. Quote: - Checked potions. Cool enough to laddle into vials
- Collects vials from potion store

Sidney reads her journal entries over again. Everything seems to be in order. She places her journal, quill, and ink into her book bag. She then takes her finished vials to Professor Kazimeriz's desk. "Excuse me professor. I have finished brewing my potions." She place the tray on an empty area of Professor Kazimeriz's desk. |
